South Pittsburg has shut down its recycling program.

Recyclable materials from the city’s businesses and homes will now go to the landfill.

Processing recycled material costs the city $200 dollars as opposed to just $30 dollars for the dump.

The city was sued after McKamey Animal Center raided The Pet Company at Hamilton Place Mall in 2011.

McKamey seized 82 puppies, cats and rodents, allegedly without a warrant.

The store had been accused of mistreating its animals.

United Pet Supply sued for $10 million dollars. The city has approved a $150,000 dollar settlement.

A factory in Calhoun, Georgia, is closing this month.

CNH made industrial and agricultural machines.

The factory employed 120 people.
